The 4 Valleys area is high and varied with over 400kms of runs (including Nendaz, Thyon and Veysonnaz ) and the Mont Fort glacier at 3,330m, provides even the most proficient skier with an almost unlimited number of challenges that many people are unable to cover even in a whole season.
For keen off-piste boarders and skiers Bruson on the other side of the Verbier valley offers some of the best tree lined off-piste in Europe.
Although catching the lift from La Tzoumaz has traditionally been busy in the holiday period I am convinced that this new lift will solve the problem. I anticipate that the lift will provide one of the quickest access methods to the Verbier ski area as it avoids the sometimes hectic queues of the Medran lift in Verbier itself (400KM of piste in the 4 Vallees). By a combination of the lifts and skiing it will be possible to reach the Attelas station in around 45 minutes. Difficult to achieve on a busy day even from the centre of Verbier.
Returning from Verbier is also very straightforward. Advanced skiers can ski the Vallon D’arbi back to the door of the Apartment. (Accessible from Lac de Vaux). However, this is difficult skiing and should not be taken lightly. I would recommend having a guide for the first attempt and you should always have avalanche equipment and know how to use it. You should never do this route alone.
Alternatively, you can ski down to the Carrefour. Either get the bus back to the Savoleyres lift from there or carry on down 'Le Rouge', (recommended as the buses are more frequent and should be every 5 minutes). At the bottom of Le Rouge by the restaurant, take your skis off and walk 30 metres to the right to the bus stop. Take the bus up the hill 2 minutes to the lift station, exit here and catch the lift back up to the top of Savoleyres. Exit the gondola at the top and ski down the other side (away from Verbier) back to La Tzoumaz and the apartment.

Beginners
The local ski school will demonstrate all the best runs to get you under way. Verbier boasts some lovely, sunny, nursery slopes for beginners just above the village centre and on Savoleyres, with its tree-lined runs down to La Tzoumaz. New "magic carpet" lifts have been installed in the Esserts beginner area.
Intermediates
This huge ski-playground of the Verbier/Mont Fort area offers some of the most varied skiing in the Alps with 206kms of runs served by 43 lifts. The Savoleyres area boasts another 55kms of piste with a choice of red runs on both sides of the mountain.
Advanced
An absolute paradise, with hundreds of new challenges every day. The Jumbo Mont Fort cable car will take you up to the glacier and the notorious Tortin bumps and Gentiane snow bowls provide a stiff challenge from top to bottom.
Snowboarding
Verbier has a great domain for freeriders with accessible powder, trees, wide pistes and the Snowpark has 4 lines and rails. The Verbier O'Neil Xtreme by Swatch Snowboard Contest is held here every year.
Should you wish to pre book your ski or snow board lessons please find more information from the ski school site website.
